About Us

​Real Vintage Roots was launched in 2022 and is run by husband and wife team Duncan & Vicki. Duncan's passion for sourcing and often restoring well designed, high quality vintage furniture goes back many years. Vicki has a love for natural and sustainable products. A shared appreciation for the Mid-Century Modern style has helped them to fill their own home with carefully selected vintage pieces, much of it restored by Duncan and Ercol being a particular favourite.

Duncan has a background in sign fitting and the building trade and he has developed a large skill set when it comes to restoration. Self taught - his attention to detail is second to none and his work is of a consistently high standard. Vicki worked as an Early Years teacher for many years and following her recent maternity leave, took on more responsibility within the business. Now, Real Vintage Roots has evolved into something that the couple are really proud of.

As anyone who runs a small, family business knows - life is busy. Duncan & Vicki have a one year old daughter, a lively Labrador and a cat to take care of as well as their ever expanding business. For the past two years, Real Vintage Roots has been running from their home and rapidly growing, to the point where they have just taken on a small industrial unit nearby. Duncan & Vicki are looking forward to being able to showcase more of their stock and to opening up the doors to other keen Ercol and mid-century enthusiasts and of course lots more potential customers.
